I have the honor of playing at the August Wilson House in Pittsburgh.
Join us on 11/5 from 6-8PM at The August Wilson House for the film premiere of ‘The Hill Has Wings’, a short documentary by Charlotte-based filmmaker DaRemen J. featuring an original score by musician Bryan Patterson Jr.
The film is a lyrical portrait of community care in Pittsburgh’s historic Hill District. It follows Miami-based muralist Tierra Armstrong as she collaborates with neighbors to create a four-story mural as part of The Roll Up, a residency program for Black contemporary artists.
Inspired by Mister Rogers’ Neighborhood, ‘The Hill Has Wings’ film reflects on what it means to be a good neighbor, inviting us to slow down, build trust and recognize that more connects us than separates us.
Details on the film and mural unveiling below. Bring a neighbor; see you there! ✨
